Inuvialuit Business List
Comprehensive Co-operation and Benefits Agreements (CCBAs)
In responding to its ongoing responsibilities under the Inuvialuit Final Agreement, Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) regularly enters into Co-operation and Benefits and comparable agreements with industry and governments undertaking economic activities within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR) . The agreements outline the terms and conditions under which industry and governments will provide employment, training and business opportunities to Inuvialuit and Inuvialuit businesses. In many cases the agreements are supplemented on an individual project basis by Participation and Access Agreements – issued by Inuvialuit Land Administration.
Inuvialuit Business List (IBL)
In August 2000 IRC established a policy that outlined the eligibility criteria to be listed as an Inuvialuit business on the IRC maintained “Inuvialuit Business List (IBL)”. The criteria includes requirements relating to Inuvialuit ownership, physical presence and operational capacity. IBL listing provides those businesses with the opportunity to access the contracting preferences as outlined in the Inuvialuit Final Agreement, Inuvialuit Land Administration permits, and Co-operation and Benefits and other economic agreements signed between IRC and both government and industry. Applicants that fail to meet the eligibility criteria will not be included on the IBL and those already on the IBL that cease to meet the required criteria will be removed from the list.
For any questions related to the Inuvialuit Business List or the eligibility criteria please contact the IRC Co-operation and Benefits Agreements Manager, April Bourke at 867-777-2737; email abourke@irc.inuvialuit.com.
