ASETS Support Helped New Inuvialuk Teacher
Inuvialuit Regional Corporation would like to congratulate Courtney Larocque, as she begins her career as the new grade 6 teacher at East Three Elementary School in Inuvik.
Courtney completed her Bachelor of Education through Mount Royal University in April 2017, and we are pleased to have helped her with this journey through the Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ASETS).
ASETS is a Government of Canada program that works alongside Aboriginal Agreement Holders to help Aboriginal people prepare for, find, and maintain high-demand jobs now and in the long-term.
As an Aboriginal Agreement Holder, IRC can design and deliver employment programs and services that are best suited to the needs of Inuvialuit beneficiaries within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region.
Courtney is a true inspiration and a testimony of where hard work and dedication can take you. It is a privilege for IRC to share her success with you.
Once again, congratulations Ms. Larocque! All the best in the coming year and the many more that will folllow.
