Call For Proposals: Language Revitalization and Cultural Programs

Inuvialuit Cultural Resource Centre is now accepting proposals for language revitalization and cultural programs.

Siglitun, Uummarmiutun, and Inuinnaqtun will be the main means of communication that connects us with our past, strengthens our social, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and reinforces the importance of our traditions, culture and modern way of life.

Learning Siglitun, Uummarmiutun, and/or Inuinnaqtun must be a main part of any program that is offered and ICRC can provide booklets to support introductory language classes.

Some examples of programs that can be held include:

  • Language classes
  • Traditional tool making
  • Storytelling classes
  • Traditional cooking
  • Sewing
  • Preparation of traditional furs
  • Drum dance workshops
  • ... And other ideas

Proposal application forms are available at Community Corporations or can be received through email by contacting ICRC.

The deadline to submit applications is September 15, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.

Proposals should be submitted to the ICRC by the Community Corporation, with support from the Community Corporation, and managed by the Community Corporation.
