Scholarship Opportunities

Inuvialuit Education Foundation (IEF) is a registered charitable organization that was established in 1990. One of its goals is to establish specific educational assistance goals and programs linked to beneficiary recruitment and career development within Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC), Inuvialuit Development Corporation and subsidiaries.

Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET) Program and Inuit Post-Secondary Education Strategy (IPSES) for additional education support for Inuvialuit.

As a way to meet its goals, IEF provides multiple scholarship opportunities that promote beneficiaries to further their education at the post-secondary level. The main focus of the scholarships is to offer encouragement and financial rewards to Inuvialuit students who achieve a 75 per cent or higher average.

IDC Scholarships

Applicants must be enrolled in a Business, Education, Health or Science program.

Two scholarships up to $1000 are available for Business and Education programs. Two scholarships up to $1000 are available for Health and Science programs.

Final approval is at the discretion of Inuvialuit Education Foundation and Inuvialuit Development Corporation.

Frederick Lawrence (Larry) Gordon IDC Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled in an Education program.

One scholarship up to $1000 is available.

Final approval is at the discretion of Inuvialuit Education Foundation and Inuvialuit Development Corporation.

BP Canada Energy Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled in a field supporting the oil and gas sector.

One scholarships up to $1000 is available.

Final approval is at the discretion of Inuvialuit Regional Corporation.

Nelson Green-Joint Secretariat Memorial Scholarships

Applicants must be enrolled in the field of Environmental Science, Policy or Law.

Two scholarships up to $1000 are available.

Final approval is at the discretion of the Joint Secretariat and Inuvialuit Regional Corporation.

Aklak Air and Canadian Helicopters Aviation Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled in the field of Aviation Mechanics, Commercial Aviation Piloting, Aviation Management or other aviation related careers.

One scholarship up to $2000 is available.

Final approval is at the discretion of the President of Canadian Helicopters Limited and a representative of Inuvialuit Education Foundation.

Roy “Bunker” Wilson Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled in a program that would positively impact the community through volunteering, committee involvement or through a work opportunity.

One scholarship up to $1000 is available.

Final approval is at the discretion of Inuvialuit Regional Corporation.

Andy Carpenter Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled in a program which involves the environmental field.

Two scholarships of $1000 are available.

Final approval is at the discretion of Inuvialuit Regional Corporation.
