The Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) invites applications for the position of Clean Energy Coordinator based in Inuvik, NT.  Under the guidance of the Director of Innovation, Inuvialuit Science & Climate Change, the Clean Energy Coordinator is responsible for supporting community energy priorities and establishing an inclusive approach to clean growth implementation efforts within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implementing the ISR’s Energy Action Plan
  • Supporting community energy development 
  • Developing energy literacy materials and training resources
  • Facilitating clean energy terminology workshops
  • Participating in JK-12 engagement sessions related to energy and climate change
  • Training Clean Energy Assistant

Education, Experience and Knowledge:

  • BA or Bachelor of Environmental Studies with a minimum of 2 years of experience
  • College diploma in related field and minimum of 7 years related work experience
  • 2 years related experience in project planning, proposal writing and budget management
  • Experience in analysis and communicating statistical information with a focus on non-technical audiences
  • Experience in developing community projects with the ability to create both long and short-term plans based on community input
  • Knowledge and interest in Canadian energy policy, funding initiatives and carbon pricing legislation
  • Knowledge of the Inuvialuit Settlement Region and the Inuvialuit Final Agreement
